merging subscriptions

I have a 365 personal subscription. My wife also has a 365 family subscription with only one subscriber. IF I move to the 365 family subscription and cancel the 365 personal subscription, would I lose my data stored under the personal subscription?

Data stored under a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription is tied to the Microsoft account, not to the specific subscription type.

If the Personal subscription is cancelled and that same Microsoft account is later covered by a Microsoft 365 Family subscription (for example, by being added as a shared user on the Family plan), the data in OneDrive and Outlook for that account remains associated with the account and the storage allowance is determined by the active subscription.

Key points from the context:

• A Microsoft account can have only one active Microsoft 365 subscription at a time, but switching between Personal and Family does not change the per‑user storage size; it only changes how many users can benefit from the subscription.
• When switching from Personal to Family, remaining subscription time can be extended, and OneDrive storage size per user does not change—only the number of users who can have that storage.
• If a subscription is cancelled and no other qualifying subscription covers that account, the storage allowance eventually reverts to the free level. If usage is above the free allowance, uploading/editing/syncing new files and sending/receiving email can be blocked until storage is reduced or a new subscription is added, but existing files are not immediately deleted.
