In addition to the windows diagnostic tool, which other programs will allow to test installed memory?

In your case, you can test memtest86, which is free, but I recommend using the boot version to test all the memory modules.

Tools beyond the built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic that can help test installed memory include:

1. Windows Hardware Lab Kit (HLK) tests
   • Hardware Reserved Memory Test: Checks how much memory is reserved by hardware, drivers, or firmware and not available to Windows or apps. This helps identify issues where hardware is consuming excessive RAM.
   • AutoMemoryBenchmark: Runs memory-related performance and stress tests as part of System Fundamentals, useful for validating memory behavior under load.
2. Graphics-focused memory tests
   • Memory Leak Verifier (WoW64): An HLK test that creates and releases many resources and checks for memory leaks greater than 1 MB, especially in graphics drivers. While aimed at driver validation, it can reveal stability problems related to memory handling.

These HLK-based tools are primarily intended for hardware and driver validation scenarios, but they provide deeper memory testing than the standard Windows diagnostic.
