Feature Request: Add built-in Change Case functionality to OneNote

OneNote currently lacks a built-in “Change Case” feature (uppercase, lowercase, sentence case, etc.), which is standard in other Microsoft Office applications like Word.

This forces users to rely on workarounds such as:

  • Keyboard shortcuts that are inconsistent or unavailable
  • External tools like Word
  • Third-party add-ins (e.g. Onetastic)

This is a very basic text formatting feature, and its absence makes everyday editing unnecessarily complicated.

A native “Change Case” function in the ribbon (similar to Word) would greatly improve usability and consistency across Microsoft 365 applications.

Kind regards

OneNote does not currently provide a built-in “Change Case” command (like in Word’s Home > Change Case) for quickly switching selected text between uppercase, lowercase, sentence case, etc.

To request this feature, use the in-app feedback mechanism so it reaches the OneNote product team:

    • In OneNote for Windows 10: select File > Feedback and describe the request (for example, “Add Change Case command similar to Word”).
    • In the OneNote app on Windows (the desktop OneNote): select Support > Feedback and submit the same request.

These feedback channels are the supported way to submit and track feature requests for OneNote.
