The Minecraft license is bound to the exact Microsoft account that was used at purchase time. If the game is not visible in purchase history and cannot be used to sign in, the key steps are to confirm the correct account, verify the order, and then contact support with the transaction details.

    1. Confirm the correct Microsoft account
      • Open the Microsoft account order history page: account.microsoft.com/billing.
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account shown in the Minecraft purchase confirmation email.
      • If there are multiple Microsoft accounts, sign out and try each one in turn, checking the order history for each.
    2. Check order history and order status
      • After signing in, go to Payment & billing > Order history.
      • Use the Ordered within Past 3 months dropdown to expand the range (for example, 6 months, 1 year, or longer) so that older Minecraft purchases are included.
      • Look for an entry with status Completed or Redeemed that matches the Minecraft purchase. If found, select Order details to confirm it is the correct transaction.
    3. If the Minecraft purchase does not appear
      • If the purchase was made without signing in (Guest Checkout), use the Guest Order Lookup option referenced in the order history article and enter the information from the confirmation email (such as order number and email address).
      • If the order still does not show up under any Microsoft account or via Guest Order Lookup, use the Microsoft Store & billing help entry point to reach Shopping and purchase support for the region. Provide:
        • The email confirmation
        • Transaction or order number
        • Date and approximate amount of the purchase
      • Support can then investigate why the order is not associated with the current account or not visible in history.
    4. If there are issues signing in to the owning Microsoft account
      • If access to the Microsoft account that owns the purchase is lost (for example, password not working or account sign-in problems), use the guided tools under Get help with your Microsoft account to resolve sign-in issues first. Without access to the correct Microsoft account, the Minecraft license will not appear or be usable.
    5. Using the Minecraft purchase
      • Once the correct Microsoft account with the Completed/Redeemed Minecraft order is confirmed, use that same Microsoft account to sign in to the Minecraft launcher and services. The game will only recognize the purchase when the launcher is signed in with the owning Microsoft account.
