To move the mouse pointer back and forth between two monitors in Windows 11, both displays must be set up as part of one extended desktop and arranged correctly.
- Open Start > Settings > System > Display.
- Under Rearrange your displays, make sure both monitors are detected. If one is missing, go to Multiple displays and select Detect.
- Drag the monitor icons so they match the physical layout on the desk (side‑by‑side, stacked, etc.). Make sure their edges touch so they form one continuous layout.
- Select Apply.
- Test by moving the mouse pointer toward the shared edge between the displays; it should pass smoothly from one screen to the other.
If the pointer does not move where expected, return to Display settings and adjust the relative positions (for example, move one display slightly up or down) until the pointer crosses at the correct edge.
For faster movement across screens without changing Windows’ basic behavior, PowerToys Mouse utilities offers CursorWrap, which lets the pointer wrap from one edge of the desktop to the opposite edge automatically.
