Hi, some years ago this PC was upgraded to windows 10 automatically, but I wanted to keep my windows 7 ultimate for Little bit longer, so have reverted back to windows 7 ultimate. Although windows 10 support has ended but I wish to re-download windows 10 again if it's possible. I've been trying to download the windows 10 but it's keep failing with the error code 0x80072F8F - 0x20000. I have already got some help online and took some of the steps, but still haven't had a success. I would be grateful if you could possibly help me please?

I know it is my mistake that I didn't keep the windows 10 at the time when I had it free of charge, but should it be necessary I wouldn't mind to pay the fee to have windows 10 to download it again.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks

Kind regards

Hi!

How are you trying to download Windows 10?

Check if you accessed this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

  • If you downloaded Windows 10 from this link, did you download Windows 10 2022 Update | Version 22H2, or Create Windows 10 installation media?

If you tried both options and it didn't work, I recommend you download it on another computer. It's probably a problem with your current Windows installation that's preventing the download, especially since it's an older version.

If you are downloading from another source, please specify the methods you are using.

    Hi,

    Thank you very much for your recommendations and advice.

    I have tried both ways but unfortunately I’m only getting to the stage where it asks;

    “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?”

    Few seconds after I say “Yes”, a new window opens with the following message;

    “We’re not sure what happened, but we’re unable to run this tool on this PC. Reference error code: 0x80072F8F – 0x20000.”

    As you have kindly recommended, I will next try downloading it on another computer and I will give you an update as soon as possible.

    Many thanks
