I recently came across my version of FS X which I thought I had lost. I installed it and entered the product key with no problems. Unfortunatly, things went badly when it asked me to activate it. I didn't have the codes for activation and since I wasn't online, I tried calling the number provided. That got me nowhere. I tried to run the programs but it informed me that my license had been revoked. Now I have no way to run enjoy the product. Can you please help me with this?

The activation loop and “license revoked” message in Flight Simulator X are known issues with Games for Windows titles.

    Use these steps:

    1. Run FSX as an administrator
      • In Windows 7, right‑click the Flight Simulator X shortcut.
      • Select PropertiesShortcut tab → Advanced.
      • Check Run as Administrator, then select OK.
      • Start FSX from this shortcut and try activation again.
    2. If still prompted repeatedly or features are disabled
      • While logged on with an administrator account, run the Software Licensing System Reset tool for Flight Simulator X.
      • The tool and instructions are described in KB article 928080 (“Error message "1722" when you try to reinstall Flight Simulator X”). Follow that article to download, install, and run the reset tool, then restart the PC and launch FSX again to activate.
    3. Check security software
      • If using Norton Internet Security, add the FSX installation folder (for example, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X) to Scan Exclusions under Virus and Spyware Protection Options → Scan Exclusions, including subfolders.
      • If other antivirus or firewall software is installed, temporarily disable it and test activation. Re‑enable protection immediately afterward.

If activation still fails after running FSX as administrator, using the reset tool, and ruling out antivirus/firewall interference, use the contact options in the relevant Knowledge Base articles to reach Microsoft support for further activation assistance.
