Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Are you using Outlook.com, Gmail, or another email provider?

Are you trying to access the email from a browser, Outlook app, or phone mail app?

    When did this start happening?

Also, are you able to sign in to your email account on the web browser, or does it also say the password is incorrect there?

Follow these steps to get email working again when Outlook.com keeps asking for a password and says it is incorrect:

    1. Confirm the correct account and password
      • Make sure the correct email address (including the domain such as .com or .co.uk) is being used.
      • Carefully retype the password, checking for caps lock or keyboard layout issues.
      • If still unable to sign in, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper or recovery flow:
        • Use the Microsoft account sign-in helper to troubleshoot sign-in issues.
        • If the password is forgotten or not accepted, use Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password to set a new one.
    2. Reset the Microsoft account password
      • Go through the password reset process and set a new password.
      • After successfully changing the password, sign in to Outlook.com on the web first to confirm the new password works.
    3. Update the password anywhere else it is used
      • If Outlook is also used in apps (for example, Outlook for Windows or mobile apps), update the stored password there after the reset.
      • If an app password is required (for accounts that use app passwords instead of the regular password), follow the instructions from the email provider to generate an app password and use that in the app.
    4. If still unable to send/receive after fixing the password
      • Check if the Outlook.com account is blocked due to unusual sign-in activity and follow the steps to unblock it.
      • If sign-in still fails even with the correct password and recovery options, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper again from a familiar device and network and follow the guided steps.

These steps address the most common causes when Outlook.com email stops working and repeatedly asks for a password.
