Office installation issue

My ASUS Vivobook laptop came with a preinstalled and lifetime-activated Microsoft Office 2021 license. Later, I installed Microsoft 365 and used it until the subscription expired. After uninstalling Microsoft 365, my original Office 2021 is no longer available. When I try to reinstall Office, it asks me to purchase a license again. Please help me restore or reactivate the original Office 2021 license that came with my laptop.

If your laptop originally came with Office 2021, it may still be recoverable. In most cases, the reinstall method depends on how that original license was set up on the device.

Here is what you can try:

• Check your Microsoft account first by sign in to your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services and look for Office 2021 or another one-time Office purchase. If it appears there, install it from that page.
• If it is not listed, check Microsoft Store Library: Some preinstalled Office versions are reinstalled through the Microsoft Store > Library > Apps/All, then select the cloud/download button next to Office.
• Also remove any leftover Office/Microsoft 365 entries: If expired Microsoft 365 components are still on the PC, they can interfere with activation. Uninstall any remaining Office versions, restart the device, and try again.
• Make sure you are signed in with the correct account, If the page only asks you to buy Office, it may be using a different Microsoft account than the one originally associated with the preinstalled Office license.
