Missing Emails

Hello,

I use my hotmail account for multiple apps and recently I was trying to log in to a few sites (Kickstarter, B&N) and they requested a verification code. I have not received any codes aimed at my outlook account. I have reached out to multiple customer services and the issue seems to be with this email account not receiving the automated verification. What are my next steps?

Thank you,

Ashley

    Hello,

Thank you so much for getting back to me!

    To answer your questions:

    1. Yes, I still receive emails from my regular senders. The email I am using is an active email.
    2. No, I have not seen the emails through Junk, deleted files or "other"
    3. I am accessing my email through my desktop application

I've looked through my Junk mail, deleted files, and "other" lists. I entered the customer service chat earlier today and they walked me through checking my Inbox Rules and Blocked Senders list but we found nothing.

According to the person I spoke to, they seem to think that it is an issue with the Outlook filtering server and encouraged me to reach out to Windows and Office technical support by placing a ticket. They gave me the instructions but I was unable to place a ticket for continued service.

If you can help me with is situation, I would deeply appreciate it.

    Thank you so much,

    Ashley

    Hi Ashley,

If verification emails from multiple services (such as Kickstarter and Barnes & Noble) are not arriving in your Hotmail/Outlook inbox, the issue could be related to email filtering, blocked senders, or mail delivery settings.

Here are a few things to check:

    1. Review your Junk Email and Deleted Items folders.
    2. Check whether the sender addresses or domains have been added to your Blocked Senders list.
    3. Review any Inbox Rules that may be automatically moving or deleting messages.
    4. If you use Focused Inbox, check the "Other" tab as well.
    5. Add the sender domains to your Safe Senders list if possible, then request a new verification code.

Since the issue appears to affect multiple services, it would also be helpful to confirm whether you are receiving other new emails normally.

Could you provide a little more information?

    • Are you able to receive regular emails from other senders?
    • Do the missing verification emails appear in Junk Email or Deleted Items?
    • Are you accessing the mailbox through Outlook.com, the Outlook desktop application, or a mobile email app?

Those details may help determine whether the issue is related to Outlook settings or the sending services.

    Thank you.
