I am not receiving verification codes via @live.com email from malwarebytes.com. Anyone know why?

Verification codes not arriving at a @live.com address are typically caused by one of these issues:

    1. The message is being delivered but not seen
    • Check Junk/Spam, Deleted Items, and any custom folders or rules that might move or delete messages automatically.
    • If using Outlook.com/Outlook on the web, sign in directly there (not just via a client app) and check all folders.
    1. Using one Microsoft account to verify another
    • If the Malwarebytes account or related security setup is using a Microsoft address that is also used for other verification, it can be easy to get signed out of the wrong account while switching.
    • To avoid sign-out issues when accessing verification codes sent to a Microsoft address, use a private/incognito browser window so multiple accounts can stay signed in at once.
    1. Account security or temporary blocks
    • If the Microsoft account has been flagged for unusual activity or is temporarily locked, some verification messages may not be delivered until the security issue is resolved.
    • Sign in to the Microsoft account’s Security/Advanced security options pages to review and update security info if needed.
    1. Verification method problems
    • If the @live.com address is listed as security info for a Microsoft account and codes from Microsoft are not arriving, update or replace that security info:
      • If there is still access to at least one security method, sign in to the Advanced security options page and add a new email/phone, then remove outdated info.
      • If there is no access to any listed security info, choose I don't have any of these at verification prompts and follow the steps to replace security info (note this can put the account in a restricted state for up to 30 days).

If the problem is specific to Malwarebytes (only their codes fail while other mail arrives), the cause is likely on the sender side (rate limiting, blocking, or misrouting) and must be resolved with Malwarebytes support.

    Hello Kim Gleghorn,

I understand that the Malwarebytes verification code is not arriving in your @live.com mailbox. Since this is a verification email, it can be especially frustrating when other messages seem to arrive normally.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors here cannot check the delivery status of your mailbox or Malwarebytes’ sending system directly.

The AI answer is generally correct, especially the parts about checking Junk Email, Deleted Items, rules, and trying Outlook.com on the web directly. May I confirm whether you already had a chance to try those checks?

I would also like to add a few Outlook.com-specific checks that are worth reviewing:

    1. Sign in directly at https://outlook.live.com/ instead of checking through a mail app.
    2. Check whether the message is being filtered: Go to Settings > Mail > Rules and remove or disable any rule that could move, delete, or redirect messages from Malwarebytes.
    3. Check the blocked sender list: Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email > Blocked senders and domains. If Malwarebytes, its domain, or a related sender address is listed there, remove it.
    4. Add the Malwarebytes sender or domain to Safe senders: In the same Junk email settings page, add the Malwarebytes sender address or domain under Safe senders and domains, then request a new code.
    5. If other emails arrive normally and only Malwarebytes codes are missing, the issue may be with how Malwarebytes is sending or routing those verification emails to Outlook.com addresses. In that case, please also contact Malwarebytes support and ask them to check whether their verification emails to your @live.com address are being accepted, deferred, or blocked on their side.

I hope these additional checks help narrow down whether the message is being filtered in Outlook.com or not being delivered from the sender side.
