I got a notification on my Microsoft Authenticator that someone tried to log into my account. I denied the request with the Authenticator.
My question is if that means they got my password? I recently changed it so that should not be possible?
best regards

It means they have your password. Recently changing your password doesn't prevent it from being stolen.
A passkey is much more secure than a password because a passkey can't be stolen.
