I am unable to activate my Windows 11 Pro license using my microsoft account using the activation troubleshooter or any other method. I recently reinstalled windows on the same hardware and was running Pro with no issues prior to the reinstall. Sometimes I get an error about not being able to activate a Pro license without a corporate email or something? How do I activate my pro license with my normal microsoft account? Is it because I use a gmail email to login to my microsoft account?

Are you sure Pro edition is installed and not Home edition.

Where did you buy the Pro licence. It sounds like it may be a volume licence if there is a reference to corporate or organisation.

To check the licence open a Command prompt and enter slmgr /dlv [press return] and post a screenshot in your reply.

Windows 11 Pro installed on my machine and purchased through the Microsoft store on the same account I signed in with. (originally purchased in 2023)

It looks like the Home to Pro upgrade licence based on the price.

Did you install and activate Home edition first?

That kind of makes sense, I do remembering upgrading from home to pro, but I installed Pro first this time... I'd rather not reinstall Windows. Will try at a later date I guess, thanks.

The only way to use an upgrade Pro licence is to upgrade from Home edition. But Home must be activated.

There's no workaround to clean install Pro edition.
