I have the same issue and have taken all of the suggested steps, verified the card information is correct, confirmed the charge with the bank, and have a $0 balance but still get daily warnings. Given the number of other users asking this question it seems Microsoft needs to do something at their end!
The alert is appearing as a pop-up when I sign in to my computer. I don't have the full message but it basically states there is an issue with my payment option and I need to correct it before losing my access to the programs. There was a brief issue with my bank's fraud detection that I corrected the same day as the renewal fee was charged, I have verified the card information is correct (though there is no place to update the CVV on an existing card), and my account shows I am paid through May 2027.
Are you able to share your excel sheets?
I haven't encountered any issues other than getting the alert when I first sign on. I tested the share through OneDrive and email and both worked without issue.

May I know where you are seeing the request to update your payment information? Is it appearing on your Microsoft account page, within a Microsoft 365 app, or in an email? Also, what is the exact message you are seeing? Thanks.
After I dowload the google sheet and it is in my downloads. When I try to share it I am prompted to update payment.
