Refund Request for Microsoft 365 Copilot Subscription (Accidental Renewal via Google Play)

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to formally request a refund for my Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription, which was recently renewed automatically because I forgot to cancel the trial period. I am currently located in Vietnam, and the subscription was processed through this region.

The subscription fee was charged through Google Play. Following standard procedures, I initially submitted a refund request directly to Google Play. However, my request was denied on the grounds that it did not meet their specific refund policies. Google Play explicitly instructed me to contact the developer directly—in this case, Microsoft—to resolve this matter and seek financial assistance.

Since I am unable to contact Google Play's support via email, I am reaching out to you here. I kindly request that the Microsoft support team review my case and grant an exception for a refund, as this was entirely an accidental renewal and I do not intend to use the service. I hope we can resolve this matter amicably.

Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and assistance. I look forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely,

Vu Van Thinh.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Since the subscription was purchased through Google Play, Google is normally responsible for billing and refunds. However, you mentioned that Google has already denied the refund request and advised you to contact Microsoft.

May I ask when the charge occurred? Was it within the last few days?

Also, have you already canceled the subscription to prevent future renewals?

As this is a billing issue that requires account access, you may need to contact Microsoft Support directly and ask whether they can review the charge and consider a refund exception.

    • Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    • Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
    • At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account), or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
    • In Product and services, select "Microsoft 365 and Office".
    • In Category, select "Manage my subscription".
    • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

If you ever find yourself stuck in a loop, please use the keywords "Contact Support" or "Live Chat" (without the quotes) and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
