Bluetooth dropping Mouse connection randomly

My bluetooth mouse and keyboard devices will randomly, without any type of pattern, lose their bluetooth connections during my work day. If I turn off BT and turn on BT they reconnect. It is very annoying.

If disabling Bluetooth and re-enabling Bluetooth resolves the problem, right click your Start Button and open Device Manager.

    Expand the Bluetooth section.

Right click your Bluetooth card and select Properties.

On the resulting Properties dialog, select the Power Management tab.

Disable the available options on that tab.

Save those settings and restart your PC to apply the change.

If that does not resolve the problem, the best option is to go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and reinstall (not update) the version of Bluetooth drivers they provide.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Follow these steps in order, testing after each step:

    1. Turn Bluetooth off and on
      • Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
      • Turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
    2. Disable Bluetooth power saving (common cause of random drops)
      • Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right‑click the Bluetooth adapter (radio) > Properties.
      • Go to the Power Management tab.
      • Clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
      • Select OK.
    3. Update Bluetooth driver and Windows
      • In Device Manager, right‑click the Bluetooth adapter > Update driver.
      • Then go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and install all available updates.
    4. Check Bluetooth radio version and adjust power setting
      • In Device Manager, right‑click the Bluetooth adapter > Properties > Advanced tab.
      • Check HCI and LMP versions:
        • If they are 6.0 or higher: ensure the driver is updated via Windows Update or the PC manufacturer.
        • If they are 5.x or lower: make sure Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is unchecked on the Power Management tab.
    5. Turn off Battery saver / Energy Saver features
      • If using any battery saver mode, turn it off so it does not interfere with Bluetooth.
    6. Restart Bluetooth services and the PC
      • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, press OK.
      • Find Bluetooth Support Service, right‑click > Restart.
      • Then restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart.

If the issue persists after these steps, also try removing and re‑adding the mouse and keyboard under Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
