Hi,

Was your account hacked some time ago, and did you recover it?

  1. Go to Outlook.com and sign in to your account.
  2. Click the Settings (⚙️) icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Mail and then Rules. Existing inbox rules will be displayed on this page.
  4. Review each rule carefully and delete them if needed.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

If you mean the suggested email addresses shown when you start typing on the "To" line in a new email - It is probably coming from your Microsoft Account Autocomplete cache.

To verify this, do step "A - Export your Autocomplete List to a CSV file" from the answer by "Hornblower409 May 1 2026" in
    [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5871874/manually-removing-an-email-address-from-the-sugges?orderby=newest&page=1#answers](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5871874/manually-removing-an-email-address-from-the-sugges?orderby=newest&page=1#answers

    )

Does it show up in the CSV file?

The address appearing as a send option does not by itself mean the account is fraudulent. Outlook.com can show addresses in the From/To lists based on:

    • Connected accounts or aliases on the Microsoft account
    • Other accounts configured in Outlook (for example, Outlook.com aliases or secondary addresses)

    To address this:

    1. Check whether the address is an alias or connected account
    2. Check the From address and default sending account
      • When composing a message in Outlook.com, select Options > Show From.
      • Use the From dropdown to confirm which addresses are available and select the correct one.
      • If the unwanted address appears because it is an alias, removing it from the alias list (step 1) will stop it from appearing.
    3. If the address appears due to a connected account
      • If this address was ever added as a connected account, remove it from the connected accounts list in Outlook.com so it no longer appears as a sending option.

If suspicious messages are received from this or any unknown address, mark them as Junk or Phishing in Outlook so they are blocked and reported.
