Hi, I had 2 sections with the same name "Apps", I just moved the notes from one to the another, but now I see them moved into another section named as "daily", I am not sure where are the notes that belong to it, it now only shows the notes from both the sections that were named as "Apps". Is there a way to recover the previous version, maybe yesterday's version.

I am using it on the edge browser, no local setup was there till today, I installed Onenote on my laptop, just to see the deleted notes or try other ways to recover it, but nothing worked. please help.

    Hello Deepansh Goel

I can see that you are having issue with OneNote sync

Do you still see both original “Apps” sections anywhere?

Since you were using OneNote in Edge/OneNote for the web, installing the desktop app today may not show older local backups from before the issue happened. Local backups only help if they already existed before the notes were changed.

    Please check these two areas:

    • Page Versions: Open the affected page in the “daily” or “Apps” section and check whether an earlier version from yesterday is available. If you find the correct version, copy the content into a new page first.
    • Misplaced Sections: Check whether OneNote shows a Misplaced Sections area in the notebook list. If the missing content is there, use Move or Copy to place it back into the correct section.

Before making more changes, I suggest copying the notes you can still see into a temporary section, just to avoid overwriting anything else.

Feel free reply back to this post and update me on this issue, I'll be happy to help.
