    Hi Khyati,

May I know what error you get while opening Microsoft Office?

    1. Press Windows key + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
    2. Locate Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office in the list of installed programs.
    3. Select it and click Change from the top menu, or right-click and select Change.
    4. repeat the steps above and select Online Repair.
    5. Restart the computer after the repair is completed and test the Office applications again.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

Follow these steps in order on the Windows PC.

    1. Check for and install Office updates
      1. Open any Office app (Word, Excel, etc.). If it opens, create a new blank document.
      2. Select File > Account (or Office Account in Outlook).
      3. Under Product Information, select Update Options > Update Now.
      4. If Enable Updates appears, select it first, then choose Update Now.
      5. Let updates finish, then restart the Office app and test sign‑in.
    2. If Office apps crash or won’t start after the Windows update
      • If apps show a "stopped working" message, make sure Windows itself is fully updated, including any service packs or cumulative updates, then restart and try Office again.
    3. Fix sign‑in or subscription/account problems
      • If Office shows messages about the subscription or cannot verify the account after the Windows update, run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant on the same PC:
        1. Use the Start link in the article to launch the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter.
        2. Choose the Office/activation scenario and follow the prompts.
      • If the tool cannot fix it, deactivate, uninstall, and reinstall Office:
        1. Deactivate the current Office installation for that device.
        2. Use the Office easy fix tool to completely uninstall Office.
        3. Reinstall Office from the account that has the active Microsoft 365 or Office subscription.
    4. If automatic updates are disabled after the Windows update
      • In File > Account, if Update Options is missing or disabled, updates may be controlled by Group Policy or were manually disabled. In that case, use Windows/Microsoft Update to install Office updates, or contact the organization’s help desk if this is a work device.

If none of these steps help and sign‑in still fails, collect the exact error message or code shown in the Office app sign‑in dialog and use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant again, choosing the closest matching scenario.
