I am trying to decrease my font size to a size of 1 and whenever I do, it shows a font size of 1+ and refuses to become a font size of 1 and instead becomes a font size of 32.

Actually, its not a number. I'm trying to decrease the size of a box inside a table chart by decreasing to a font size of 1 and isn't working.

PowerPoint supports font sizes from 1 to 3600 points in increments of 0.1, so a size of exactly 1 pt is valid. The behavior described (showing “1+” and jumping to 32) usually indicates that PowerPoint is interpreting the input as invalid and reverting to a default size.

To reliably set the font size to 1 pt in PowerPoint:

    1. Select the text placeholder or specific text that should be 1 pt.
    2. On the Home tab, locate the Font Size box.
    3. Click in the Font Size box, type 1 (just the number), and press Enter.
    4. Confirm that the box now shows 1.0 or 1 and that the text appears extremely small.

If the box still shows “1+” or jumps to a larger value, try:

    1. Typing 1.0 instead of 1 and pressing Enter.
    2. Reducing the font in steps using Decrease Font Size until it is very small, then typing 1 again.
    3. Testing in a new blank presentation to rule out corruption in the current file.

If none of these work, use the smallest size PowerPoint will accept (for example, 2 or 3 pt) as a practical minimum, since the application may be enforcing an internal lower limit in that environment.
