A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.
Auto-redemption can fail or be cancelled automatically when Microsoft Rewards detects something that violates redemption requirements or when the specific reward is unavailable.
For $10 gift card auto-redemption, check the following:
- Region and account consistency
- Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region where the account was registered. If attempting to redeem in multiple regions or from outside the registered market, orders or auto-redemptions can be cancelled.
- Do not use a VPN while enabling auto-redemption; using a VPN can cause orders to be cancelled.
- Phone verification
- Ensure SMS verification is set up correctly with a mobile or landline number, not a VoIP number. Using a VoIP number or hitting the maximum allowed uses on a single phone number can block redemptions.
- Reward availability and cancellations
- Rewards (including specific gift cards) can go out of stock or become unavailable. When that happens, related orders or auto-redemptions may be cancelled.
- If an order or redemption is cancelled, check the Rewards order history to see the status and confirm whether the order was created and then cancelled.
- Points balance and other auto-redemptions
- Ensure there are enough points to cover the $10 gift card at the time auto-redemption is being set up and at renewal.
- Other auto-redemptions and goals remain separate; they do not affect each other, but each must meet its own point and policy requirements.
If auto-redemption continues to activate and then cancel, verify region, network (no VPN), and phone number type, then check order history for any cancelled orders. If the issue persists, contact Microsoft Rewards Customer Support from the Rewards page so they can review the account-specific cancellation reason.
