"Remembering" Volume Mixer settings in UWP apps (i.e. Groove Music)

Hi! I love using Groove to collect and browse all my music, but this one issue has been bothering me since the beginning. I use the Volume Mixer to reduce Groove's volume. However, when I re-launch the app, the Volume Mixer setting has reverted to my speaker volume. Luckily, Volume Mixer is still fairly accessible from the taskbar, but it's still a hassle to change the volume every time.
I've been told that this is a consistent "feature" with all UWP apps, like Microsoft's "Movies & TV" and "Photos" apps.

Here's a link to a thread from last year documenting the same phenomenon.

    Hi there,

I suspect it is not so that the UWP based apps will not work parallel with the Volume mixer or any apps of that sort. This was reported as an update issue with Windows 10 2004 and later rectified by subsequent updates. So how long are you exactly facing this Issue?
I would suggest you to check whether you are in the latest build of Windows.

Here is a thread of the same nature and you can try out the steps preferred by one of the volunteers
