    Hi,

When was the last time your microphone worked properly?

Are you using the built-in microphone, or an external microphone connected via Bluetooth, USB, or a 3.5 mm audio jack?

In the meantime, try the following:

Press Windows key + R, type mmsys.cpl, and click OK.

    Go to the Recording tab.

Check if your microphone is listed.

If it is, right click the microphone and select Enable.

Right click it again and choose Set as Default Device.

Right click the microphone once more and select Properties.

On the Levels tab, adjust the volume slider to 100, then click OK.

Next, go to the Advanced tab and uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

Also, click Start > Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, then make sure Microphone access and Let apps access your microphone are both turned On.

Follow these steps in order on Windows 11:

    1. Check physical connection
    • If using a headset or external mic, make sure it is firmly plugged in (correct jack or USB port) or properly powered on.
    • If using Bluetooth, ensure the device is paired and connected.
    1. Make sure apps and Windows can use the microphone
    1. Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
    2. Select Change, then turn on Allow apps to access your microphone.
    3. Under Allow desktop apps to access your microphone, make sure the switch is On.
    1. Set the correct input device and test it
    1. Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
    2. Under Input, open Choose a device for speaking or recording and select the correct microphone or headset.
    3. Select the > next to the device to open its properties.
    4. Under Microphone test, select Start test, speak into the mic, then select Stop test and Play to confirm it records sound.
    1. Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter
    1. Go to Settings > System > Sound.
    2. Scroll down to Advanced and choose Input devices under Troubleshoot common sound problems.
    3. Follow the wizard’s recommendations.
    1. Reinstall and update audio drivers if no device is detected If Input still shows “No input device found” or Windows does not detect the microphone at all:
    1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    3. Right-click the audio device(s) and select Uninstall device.
    4. Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device) and select Uninstall. Repeat for other audio devices if needed.
    5. Restart the PC so Windows reinstalls audio devices automatically.
    6. If they do not reinstall, open Device Manager, right-click Sound, video and game controllers, and select Scan for hardware changes.
    7. After devices appear, right-click the audio driver and select Update driver.
    1. Verify again in Sound settings
    • Return to Settings > System > Sound and confirm that a microphone now appears under Input and passes the Microphone test.

If after these steps there is still no input device listed, the issue may be with the hardware (internal mic or audio jack) and the device manufacturer’s support may be required.
