Cannot send emails

I have Microsoft outlook on my desktop Mac. The last few days I have been unable to send emails from my imap account

    Thank you for the update.

    Since you can receive emails normally and can send emails through Shaw Webmail, the issue appears to be with Outlook rather than your Shaw email account.

    Because you recently changed your password, Outlook may still be using an old credential for the outgoing mail server.

    I would try removing the account from Outlook again and then adding it back using the current password. If that does not help, please check the outgoing (SMTP) server settings in Outlook and make sure they match Shaw's current settings.

    When you try to send an email, do you receive any more detailed error message or error code than "Connection to the server failed or was dropped"?

    Also, are you using the latest version of Outlook for Mac available through Microsoft AutoUpdate?

    1. yes emails come in normally
    2. Yes i can send emails from my web browser
    3. i did change the password as i thought that may be an issue

    I am using Legacy. I did try to remove and re add account but I may try that again.

    To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Are you getting any error message when you try to send an email? If so, what does it say exactly?
    2. Is this happening with all emails or only certain recipients?
    3. Did anything change recently, such as your email password, email provider settings, or a macOS/Outlook update?
    4. Which email provider are you using (Gmail, Yahoo, ISP email, business email, etc.)?

    If you can receive emails but cannot send them, the issue is often related to the outgoing SMTP server settings, authentication, or an email account password that needs to be updated in Outlook.
