Billing issue

Good day,

I missed my payment yesterday. I forgot to put money into my account. I resolved the issue by paying it manually. It says my next billing is the 9th of July, but when I opened my Word today, it stated I still have a billing issue. I looked at my account, and it says I have paid. I want to know whether this is a glitch or something?

    Hi,

Did you just pay the renewal amount today? If so, it is possible that the renewal has not fully synced with your Microsoft account yet.

In the meantime, please try the following steps:

    1. Open Word and go to File > Account.
    2. Sign out of your Microsoft account.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. Sign back in using the same Microsoft account associated with your subscription.

After signing back in, is your subscription now being detected?

If not, open Word and go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now to make sure your Office apps are fully updated.

If the issue still persists, please sign in to your account here:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

Can you confirm whether your license or subscription appears there and is listed as Active?

The billing issue banner in Word is typically caused by a temporary subscription or payment status problem and can remain visible for a short time even after the payment is fixed.

    To clear it:

    1. Confirm the subscription is active
      • Close all Office apps.
      • Go to the Subscriptions page and sign in with the same Microsoft account used in Word.
      • Under Microsoft 365, confirm the status shows as active and the next billing date matches what is shown (9 July).
    2. Verify payment information
      • Go to the Payment options page.
      • Make sure the payment method no longer shows an error and that the past-due amount is cleared.
    3. Restart Office and the device
      • Close Word and all Office apps.
      • Restart the computer, then open Word again and check if the banner is gone.

If the subscription shows as active and payment is up to date but the message still appears after these steps, it is most likely a transient glitch in the activation/billing status. In that case, contact Microsoft Support so they can check the account and clear any stuck billing flags.

In the meantime, if no further payment issues exist and the subscription is active, Office should continue working normally and the warning may disappear on its own after the status syncs.
