If the other Answers don't help. Some other possible things to try that might shake things loose:

The simple one is to just Remove the GMail Account and then add it back.

If that doesn't help then you can try Nuking your New Outlook for Windows Profile. This will reset you to an initial state. As if you had never used Outlook before. You will have to re-add your email account and re-do all of your settings.

1 -- Remove the GMail account

    • View -> View settings -> Accounts > Your accounts
    • {Pick your GMail account} and [Manage]
    • [Remove]
    • If you see an option for "Remove from all devices", check it.

2 -- Remove the Microsoft Access from your Google Account

3 -- Erase your New Outlook Profile and any OAuth credentials

    Hi!

    1. Is your email personal, corporate, or educational?
    2. Is your email from your custom domain (@yourname.com, @companyname.com), Microsoft (@outlook.com or @hotmail.com), Google (@gmail.com), or a third-party domain?
    3. Does the problem occur in Outlook Classic?

In new Outlook for Windows, automatic sync behavior is different from classic Outlook, especially for some account types and shared mailboxes.

Key points based on current behavior:

    1. New Outlook uses the Sync feature instead of the classic Send/Receive tab. Automatic checks still occur, but:
      • Some folders and accounts (especially shared mailboxes added by automapping) do not auto-sync reliably.
      • In those cases, selecting View → Sync or pressing F9 is required to trigger synchronization.
    2. For shared mailboxes specifically:
      • Incoming emails in shared mailboxes added by automapping are not automatically synchronized in the Inbox.
      • Manual sync is required by either:
        • Selecting View → Sync, or
        • Selecting the specific folder that needs to sync.
      • If automatic sync and notifications are required for a shared mailbox, it should be added as an account, not just automapped.
    3. If messages in a regular mailbox are not appearing until Sync is pressed:
      • Use View → Sync (or F9) to force a manual sync and confirm that Outlook is actually syncing (a status message appears at the bottom of the message list).
      • If the issue persists only for certain folders (like a shared mailbox), consider reconfiguring that mailbox as an account so it can sync automatically.

If the account is a third‑party POP/IMAP provider (Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, generic POP/IMAP), note that these do not support the same manual Sync button behavior as Microsoft accounts, and sync issues may appear different.
