Eligible nonprofit organizations can apply for Azure grants through the Microsoft for Nonprofits program, which provides an Azure Sponsorship grant (currently $2,000 USD in annual Azure credits) to help nonprofits build and run cloud-based solutions.
How to apply for Azure nonprofit grants
- Validate nonprofit eligibility First, your organization must be approved under the Microsoft for Nonprofits program. Eligible organizations include recognized nonprofits/NGOs, public libraries, and certain public health organizations with a community-focused mission.
Register and get approved
- Sign in to the Nonprofit Hub with a Microsoft account
- Submit organization details for validation
- Once approved, your organization can access nonprofit offers and grants
Claim the Azure Sponsorship grant After approval:
- Go to the Offers section in the Nonprofit Hub
- Locate the Azure $2,000 Sponsorship offer
- Select Activate to start the setup process
Activate and configure Azure credits During activation:
- Accept Azure Sponsorship terms
- Choose or create a billing profile
- Set up your Azure subscription
Important:
- The Azure grant must be activated within 90 days of issuance, otherwise it may expire.
- Only the designated primary contact can activate the grant.
After activation
- The grant provides $2,000 USD per year in Azure credits
- It supports a wide range of Azure services (compute, storage, AI, analytics, etc.)
- The grant must be renewed annually to continue receiving benefits
