My Microsoft authenticator is connected to two email addresses on my IPHONE 15 PRo MAX, however it is only showing one account and the other account shows up, but I can not get a code.

On Microsoft Authenticator, different account types behave differently:

    1. For Microsoft work or school accounts and Microsoft personal accounts using passwordless sign‑in:
      • Only the account name is shown in Authenticator.
      • The app does not show a 6‑digit code for these; instead, it sends push notifications or number‑matching prompts.
      • To sign in, choose the “Approve a request from my Microsoft Authenticator app” option (or similar) on the sign‑in screen and then approve the prompt in Authenticator.
    2. For accounts that use one-time password codes (OTP) (including many third‑party accounts like Amazon, Facebook, Gmail, etc.):
      • Authenticator shows a 6‑digit code with a countdown timer labeled “One-time password code.”
      • If the second account is a work/school or passwordless Microsoft account, it is expected that no OTP code appears.

If the second account should be using OTP codes but none appear:

    1. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version and that notifications and date/time on the iPhone are correct.
    2. Remove that account from Authenticator and re‑add it using the QR code or secret key from the service’s security/MFA settings.
    3. If it is a Microsoft account and still does not show an OTP, use another verification method (email, SMS, backup codes) to sign in and reconfigure MFA to use OTP codes if desired.

If access to the account is completely blocked because of Authenticator and no other method works, contact Microsoft support and request escalation to the Data Protection team to reset MFA for that account.
