For an HP Spectre, the fingerprint driver must be obtained from HP, not from generic Microsoft downloads.

Use these options:

1. Go to the HP support website
   • Open the HP support page for your exact Spectre model.
   • Go to the Drivers/Software section.
   • Filter for Windows 11 and look under categories such as “Driver – Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices,” “Biometric,” or “Security” for the fingerprint or Windows Hello driver.
   • Download and install the driver package provided there.
2. Use Windows Update
   • Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
   • Select Check for updates and install any optional hardware/driver updates that appear, especially for biometric or fingerprint devices.
3. Install via Device Manager (if the device shows as unknown)
   • Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
   • Expand Biometric devices or Other devices and locate the fingerprint sensor (may appear as an unrecognized device).
