Try the following steps in order; test Clipchamp after each step:
- Make sure Edge or Chrome is fully up to date
- In Edge: select the three dots (…) → Help and feedback → About Microsoft Edge and let it update if needed. Steps in Chrome are similar.
- Refresh and reopen Clipchamp
- If Clipchamp shows a blank screen, press Ctrl+F5 or use the browser reload button.
- If that does not help, close the tab, go back to the Clipchamp projects overview page, reload that page, then reopen the project.
- Clear browser cache and restart the browser
- Follow the steps in the Edge or Chrome articles for clearing cache, and be sure to select:
- Time range: All time
- Only Cached images and files (no need to clear other data).
- After clearing, type edge://restart (Edge) or chrome://restart (Chrome) in the address bar and press Enter, then open Clipchamp again.
- Disable or whitelist browser extensions
- Privacy, ad‑blocking, or translation extensions can block Clipchamp and cause a blank screen.
- Either temporarily disable extensions, or add Clipchamp as an allowed site:
- Personal version: whitelist
https://app.clipchamp.com/.
- Restart the browser and try Clipchamp again.
- Free up memory and disk space
- Close other browser tabs and apps so more RAM and GPU are available.
- Keep the Clipchamp tab in the foreground while testing.
- Ensure there is more free space on the internal drive than the total size of the video files being edited.
- Clear Clipchamp site data (advanced)
- Ensure original media files are safely stored outside Clipchamp first, because they might need to be relinked later.
- Open Developer tools (three dots → More tools → Developer tools).
- Select the Application tab → Storage → Clear site data.
- Refresh the Clipchamp page and try opening the editor/project again.
- Check hardware requirements
- Confirm the device has at least 8 GB RAM (16 GB or more recommended), is 64‑bit with a 64‑bit OS and 64‑bit Edge/Chrome, and has a reasonably recent graphics card.
- If the PC is older or under‑spec, Clipchamp may freeze or stay blank; trying on a newer machine or the Clipchamp desktop app for Windows can help.
If the desktop app is available on Windows 10/11, try launching or updating it from the Microsoft Store as an alternative to the browser version.
