issue with word document

I was working on my document and now there are large gaps on each page so they start half way down and I can't fix it! Also I have tried taking on tracking changes and they just keep coming back. It's very frustrating!!!!

    If the text doesn't start at the top of the page, the vertical alignment could be wrong. Is this Word for Windows (= the full desktop app for Windows)? In that case, go to the Layout tab on the ribbon, click the dialog launcher icon User's image in the Page Setup group, and, in the Page Setup dialog box, change Vertical alignment to "Top." Confirm with OK.

    Does that fix the problem? If it doesn't, please post a screen shot which illustrates what you see in your document.
