How do I contact customer support?

I don't want to talk to an AI, but rather a person, for specific help on a specific purchase of mine.

    Hi, I'm John!

May I ask what issue you’re contacting support about?

Are you using a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook/Hotmail), or is this for Microsoft 365 Business?

Phone support is usually available for Microsoft 365 Business accounts. For personal Microsoft accounts, support is typically handled through live chat online or via the Get Help app rather than a direct hotline number.

To get help from a human for a Microsoft 365/Office home subscription purchase or billing issue, use one of these options:

    1. Go through Microsoft 365 consumer support
      1. Go to the Microsoft 365 for home support flow: use the Get Help app or your browser to contact support via this link: contact support.
      2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
      3. Describe the billing/purchase issue when prompted.
      4. When self-help suggestions appear, continue until the option to Contact support is available.
      5. Choose a contact method such as Chat with a support agent or Request a call (availability depends on region and hours of operation).
    2. Use the general Microsoft “Contact us” entry point
      1. Open the general support entry: Contact us.
      2. When asked what help is needed, indicate it is about Microsoft 365 and Office and a subscription/billing issue.
      3. Follow the prompts until the Contact support option appears.
      4. Select Chat with a support agent or Call me back to reach a person.
    3. Use the Get Help app on Windows (if signed in with a personal Microsoft account)
      1. On Windows, open the Get Help app (search for “Get Help” from Start).
      2. Enter a short description such as “Microsoft 365 subscription billing issue.”
      3. When prompted, select Contact Support.
      4. Choose the affected product (Microsoft 365/Office) and confirm.
      5. Select Chat with a support agent in your web browser or Provide your phone number and a support agent will call you.

These paths all route to human support agents for account and billing questions about Microsoft 365 for home.
