To cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription for home (Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium) that was bought directly from Microsoft:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
- If instead of Manage there is Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again. No further action is needed.
- On the next page, select Cancel (it may appear as Upgrade or Cancel or Cancel subscription).
- Review the information on the cancel page, including any notes about storage and alternative plans.
- At the bottom, choose I don't want my subscription (or confirm Cancel subscription) to complete cancellation.
Important effects after canceling a home Microsoft 365 subscription:
- Cloud storage reverts to 5 GB total for OneDrive and Outlook.com attachments, and 15 GB for Outlook.com mailbox.
- If more than the free allowance is used:
- New files cannot be uploaded, edited, or synced to OneDrive.
- Email cannot be sent or received in Outlook.com.
- After 6 months, OneDrive and all files in it may be deleted.
If the subscription was purchased from a third-party retailer (for example, a store, Google Play, or Apple App Store), contact that retailer’s support to cancel and manage billing.
