A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hello shivang patel,
It really depends on how you did the edit/changes?
Do you used Online Excel or Desktop App?
Does the file was (Synced) with OneDrive with AutoSave is ON? or just a local file?
OneDrive App on your Desktop was working?
Internet Connection?
I will explain how Version History Works:
- If you made a change to the same file that was synced with OneDrive and with Internet Connection.
If any of the above not matching, there will be an issue and we can from then start troubleshooting and searching for the files:
Actions Required from you:
- Confirm where was the file exactly when you did those changes.
- Confirm the (Last Modified Date) of that file
- Confirm that you have edited the same file not a duplicate or local one.
Possible Fixes:
- Open Excel --> go to File --> Check [Recent Files]
- Open Run by hitting (
Windows Key + R) --> Type: recent
*Search for .xls files that has been changed during that period.
- Check (Unsaved Files):
open Excel and go to File > Info > Manage Workbook > Recover Unsaved Workbooks.
OR
File > Open > Recent and click the **Recover Unsaved Workbooks
**
+Checkt the below 2 folder paths
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles
%AppData%\Microsoft\Excel
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive\logs
Look for .tmp Files.
&
Check onedrive status
Finally: Check OneDrive Recycle Bin.
If the laptop is joined to business network, you can have more support from the IT Admin/Help Desk for further check.
Good Luck finding your files/edits.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Best,
