Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Go to Start > Settings > System > Optional Features > View features.

Select the 'See available features' option and install the Wireless display feature.

To check if the feature is already added, click on See added features option.

If the feature is still missing, manually add it using Command Prompt.

    Run the command as Administrator.

    DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0

This should install the WirelessDisplay feature on your device.

Let me know if you still need more help.

On Windows 11, Wireless Display is an optional feature that enables receiving Miracast projections. If it does not appear in Optional features and the Add feature list does not load, use these checks and workarounds:

    1. Verify Miracast support and basic casting
      • Press Windows logo key + K.
      • If a list of wireless displays appears (TV, dongle, etc.), the PC can already cast out to Miracast devices without needing Wireless Display. Wireless Display is only required when this PC should receive projections from other devices.
    2. Try opening the Wireless Display app directly
      • In the taskbar search box, type wireless display.
      • If “Wireless Display” appears, select it to launch the app.
      • If it opens, the feature is already installed even if it is not visible in Optional features.
    3. Check “Projecting to this PC” settings
      • Select Start > Settings > System > Projecting to this PC.
      • If the Wireless Display feature is missing, Windows will show a link under “Add the ‘Wireless Display’ optional feature to project to this PC.”
      • Select Optional features from there and try again when the list is available.
    4. Fix issues that prevent Optional features from loading
      • Make sure Wi‑Fi is turned on and the PC is online.
      • Restart the PC, then go back to Settings > System > Projecting to this PC > Optional features and try loading the feature list again.
      • If the PC is managed by an organization, Optional features (including Wireless Display) may be blocked by policy; in that case, contact the administrator.
    5. Confirm the feature is not required for your scenario
      • To cast from this Windows 11 PC to a TV or Miracast dongle:
        1. Turn on the TV/projector/dongle.
        2. Press Windows logo key + K.
        3. Select the display from the list and follow on‑screen instructions.
      • This does not require the Wireless Display optional feature.

If, after network and restart checks, Optional features and “Add a feature” never load, and the PC must receive wireless projections, support assistance from the device or Windows support channel is required to investigate servicing or policy issues.
