I am very dissatisfied. My hotmail account and all my messeges seem to have not been transfered to outlook. How can you design a system where there is any chance of accidentally deleting a hotmail alias?

Follow these steps in Outlook.com (web) to look for the missing Hotmail messages:

    1. Check Junk Email
      • Open Outlook.com and sign in with the same Microsoft/Hotmail account.
      • Open the Junk Email folder and look for the missing messages.
      • If any valid messages are there, select them and choose Not junk > Not junk to move them back to Inbox.
    2. Check Focused/Other tabs
      • In the Inbox, if Focused Inbox is enabled, check both Focused and Other tabs.
      • If messages are in Other, select them and choose Move to > Move to Focused inbox.
    3. Check filters
      • In the Inbox, select Filter above the message list and set it to All so no messages are hidden by filtering.
    4. Check Deleted Items and recoverable items
      • Open the Deleted Items folder and look for the missing messages.
      • If found, select them and choose Restore (or Move to > Inbox).
      • If not visible there, in Deleted Items select Recover items deleted from this folder (on a computer, not mobile). If the messages appear, select and Restore them.
      • Note: Messages removed from Deleted Items are only recoverable for 30 days.
    5. Check Archive
      • Open the Archive folder and see if the messages were archived.
      • If found, select them and choose Move to > Inbox.
    6. Check rules and blocked senders
      • Go to Settings > Mail (or Options) in Outlook.com.
      • Check Inbox and sweep rules and disable any rule that might move or delete messages.
      • Check Blocked senders / Block and allow and remove any legitimate senders or domains that should not be blocked.
    7. Check recent sign-in activity
      • If there is any suspicion that someone else accessed the account and deleted or moved mail, review the Recent activity page for the Microsoft account to see sign-ins and activity.
    8. If messages are still missing
      • If the mailbox was inactive for a long period (no sign-in for a year), the Outlook.com mailbox and its email may have been deleted as part of account cleanup and would not be recoverable.
      • If none of the steps above help and the account is active, contact Outlook.com support from within the signed-in account: select Help in Outlook.com, describe the issue, then under Still need help? choose to contact support.
