    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

    Do you use the device's built-in camera or an external camera?

    Check if you can find the camera in Device Manager with the "Show hidden devices" option enabled.

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Cameras";

    (If this category is not displayed, let me know.)

    1. If the camera is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

    If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

    Maximize the window and use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Use the following steps in order, stopping if the camera starts working or appears in Device Manager.

    1. Check physical camera controls
    • On many laptops, a function key (for example F4 or F10) or Fn + a function key toggles the camera. Press the key with a camera icon once.
    • Look closely around the camera lens for a small privacy slider/shutter and make sure it is open.
    1. Verify camera access in Settings
    2. Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera.
    3. Under Allow access to the camera on this device, select Change and turn Camera access for this device On.
    4. Make sure Allow apps to access your camera is On.
    5. Under Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your camera, turn on the apps needed.
    6. Under Allow desktop apps to access your camera, turn this On so apps like browsers and Teams can use it.
    7. Run the Camera troubleshooter
    8. Select Start > Settings > System.
    9. Select Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    10. Find Camera and select Run.
    11. Apply any fixes it suggests and restart the PC.
    12. Check Device Manager for hidden or misclassified devices
    13. Select Start, type device manager, and open it.
    14. Look under Cameras, Imaging devices, and Sound, video and game controllers for any camera entry.
    15. If nothing appears:
      • On the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes.
      • Wait for the scan to complete, then restart the PC and check again.
    16. Reinstall or roll back the camera driver (if/when it appears) If a camera device appears after the scan:
    17. Right-click the camera > Properties > Driver tab.
    18. If available, select Roll Back Driver, then restart and test the Camera app.
    19. If rolling back is not available or does not help:
      • On the Driver tab, select Uninstall Device.
      • Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device) and select OK.
      • In Device Manager, open the Action menu and select Scan for hardware changes.
      • Wait for Windows to reinstall the default driver, restart the PC, and test the Camera app.
    20. Switch an external USB camera to the in-box UVC driver If using an external USB webcam that appears in Device Manager but does not work:
    21. In Device Manager, right-click the webcam and select Update driver.
    22. Select Browse my computer for drivers.
    23. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
    24. Select USB Video Device and then Next.
    25. Close the wizard, then restart and test the Camera app.
    26. If the camera still does not appear
    • Test the camera on another device (if it is external) to rule out hardware failure.
    • If it is built in and still does not show up in Device Manager after scans and restarts, go to the laptop manufacturer’s support page and install any camera/webcam driver they provide for Windows 11.
    • If the problem persists even with the OEM driver, contact the device manufacturer for hardware diagnostics, as the camera module or its connection may be faulty.
