Question

I upgraded phones but my Authenticator app no longer has the information for gameflip, however gameflip remembers my Authenticator app and I can’t get a code to log into gameflip nor get a code for Authenticator to remember gameflip. I also can’t get gameflip to forget Authenticator without a code. It’s very frustrating. Can you help?

Gameflip is treating Microsoft Authenticator as the only configured 2FA method, and the original 2FA secret is no longer available on the new phone. When this happens, the site must reset or remove 2FA on its side; Microsoft Authenticator cannot recover or “recreate” the old Gameflip entry by itself.

To regain access, the only available path is:

1. Use any backup sign-in method Gameflip offers (backup codes, SMS, email, or security questions) to log in and turn off 2FA or reconfigure it.
2. If no backup method is available or working, contact Gameflip support and request a 2FA reset on the account. Be prepared to prove ownership (email, transaction history, etc.).
3. After Gameflip support removes or resets 2FA, sign in to Gameflip and set up 2FA again using Microsoft Authenticator on the new phone.

If the same issue ever occurs with a Microsoft account (rather than Gameflip), and there is no access to the old device or codes, the documented options are:

• Use an alternate verification method (SMS/email) if available when signing in.
• If no methods work, select “I don't have any of these” during sign-in and follow the prompts to update security info and regain access.

These flows reset the account’s security info on Microsoft’s side; they do not restore the old Authenticator entry, but they let the account be re-registered with Authenticator afterward.
