To claim a Microsoft certification exam offer tied to an event, use the same email address that was used to register or participate in that event and apply the discount through the Certification Dashboard during exam scheduling.
Follow these steps:
- Go to the page of an eligible certification exam and select “Schedule exam”.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that has the Microsoft Certification Profile (or create one if needed).
- Confirm the details in the Certification Profile and select “Save & continue” to go to the Exam Discounts page.
- On the Exam Discounts page, enter the email address used to register for the event (for example, the email used for Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, or a Microsoft Virtual Training Day).
- Check that email inbox for a verification code, then enter the passcode on the site.
- When prompted, agree to link the accounts; this is required for the discount to be applied.
- After linking, a discount banner/popup will appear at the top of the page. Select the discount and continue to schedule the exam.
- At checkout, verify that the total due is $0.00 before submitting the order.
If the event was one of the listed Microsoft events (such as Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Ignite The Tour, Microsoft Build Cloud Skills Challenge, or Microsoft Virtual Training Days), the email to use is specifically the one shown in the table in the event guidance (for example, the email used to register for the event or the email on the Learn profile used to complete a Cloud Skills Challenge).
If the discount does not appear even after following these steps and using the correct event email, contact Microsoft Certification Support as indicated in the event’s offer page.
