"Error processing pending request." when adding/accepting members to a group on GroupMe?

I added my friends to a group with their phone numbers, but removed them after seeing that their personal contact names were what they came through as. Now when they try to join the group through links or QR codes it won't let me accept them into the group. It also will not allow me to add them through their GroupMe account or phone number. This applies to the website and the app. I also tried changing the permissions so we didn't need to approve them and they were still not let in.

    Please read through this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/groupme/how-do-i-add-or-remove-members-in-a-group-in-groupme for steps on how to add and remove people to the group. Be sure to try via the web or app if you haven't done so already.

    If you still have trouble though you may want to consider contacting their support team for more help.
