I upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 Home. The automated activated activation portal gives an error and won't accept my installation ID. My computer serial number is PF4HHC71. please help me activate my digital license

Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?

Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

Click your Start Button, type cmd then right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Run or paste this command and hit Enter:

slmgr.vbs /dlv

Follow these steps to activate the Windows 11 Home digital license after upgrading from Windows 10:

1. Confirm Windows 11 is installed and up to date:
   • Press the Windows key, type winver, and select Winver.
   • If not on Windows 11 or not current, follow the steps in update Windows to install all updates.
2. Run the Windows Activation troubleshooter:
   • Select Start > Settings > System > Activation.
   • If Windows shows as not activated, select Troubleshoot.
   • Let the troubleshooter run; it will attempt to detect and apply the correct digital license.
3. If the automated activation/phone portal still fails with the installation ID:
   • Make sure the edition matches the license (for example, Windows 11 Home license must be used with Windows 11 Home, not Pro or Enterprise). If the wrong edition is installed, use the Activation troubleshooter to detect a valid digital license for another edition and follow its instructions to install the correct edition.
4. If activation still does not succeed and the error code changes, note the new error code and then:
   • Go to the Most common Windows Activation errors section in the documentation and follow the specific steps for that code.
   • If the error code is not listed, contact customer support using the link in the documentation.

The serial number of the device is not required for standard digital-license activation; focus instead on ensuring the correct edition is installed, Windows is updated, and the Activation troubleshooter has been run.
