Troubleshooting sound problems doesn't work

Hi. The sound on my desktop doesn't work. I have been using Windows 11. So every time I start my computer I can't hear anything - neither through the speakers nor through headphones. I have to troubleshoot every time I start the computer. But now that's not working either. I contacted Microsoft support team. They did some updating of drivers but still no sound. Now if anyone here can help me out, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

In this case, it's probably an issue with the device's audio driver. A clean reinstall of the driver should help.

The procedure I will suggest below is different from a simple driver update and, in my experience, is more efficient at fixing audio driver issues.

I suggest you clean reinstall the audio driver as instructed below.

Download the latest audio driver from the Dell website (link below), uninstall the current driver, restart your computer, and install the driver you downloaded.

    https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/inspiron-27-7720-aio/drivers

Driver name: Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

    Version: 6.0.9954.2

(Run the downloaded EXE file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.)

You should be able to uninstall the current Realtek driver in "Settings > Apps > Installed apps". It should be named "Realtek Audio Driver" or "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver".

(If you can't find the driver to uninstall, install the driver I suggested in the link above.)

After reinstalling the driver, restart (not shutdown) your PC and see if the audio will work properly.

Note: You may need to disconnect and reconnect your headphones/speakers for it to work.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

To be able to assist you better, please clarify the following:

    • Do your speakers/headphones have a standard audio connector (Jack connector) or USB connector, or are they connected via Bluetooth?
    • Is there an X in the speaker icon next to the clock?

Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.
