How to allow another person to share my calendar

I created a calendar for which I would like to allow my friend to add or remove users to it.
I could not find a way to do this in Outlook, even though other calendar managers (e.g. Google Calendar) have this possibility.

Could you please give users the possibility to make other people of their choice able to share a calendar? Thank you.

Best - T.

I kind of found a solution for this, you can actually share a calendar in the form of a link, which anyone can share with anyone they want. The steps are (as the owner of the calendar):

    • In Outlook, go to Settings (cog icon on the top-right) > Calendar > Shared Calendars
    • In 'Publish a calendar' select the calendar of interest> select 'can view all details' > Publish
    • This should produce two links, copy the .ics one (2nd one) to be shared.

People then need to do the following to add it to their own calendar view:

    • Go to Calendars on the left bar in Outlook
    • Click on 'Add calendar' just below the Calendar view on the left > Subscribe from web > paste the .ics link > Name the calendar >  Import

With this they should be able to see the calendar in their own outlook including any teams link - but they won't be able to add or modify events.

Kind of a complicated workaround, but still useful!

In Microsoft Outlook, “allowing someone else to share your calendar” is not supported for a personal calendar.

Only the calendar owner (or admin in an organization) can manage sharing permissions, and even users with edit/delegate access cannot re-share it.

    About “Group Calendar”

A group calendar in Microsoft 365 is a shared team calendar where:

    • The calendar belongs to a group, not an individual
    • Group owners can manage members
    • All members can collaborate on events
    • It is the closest option to what you are looking for

So unfortunately, what you want is not available for personal calendars, and group calendars are the intended alternative.

    Hope this helps clarify

    Hi,

In Microsoft Outlook, calendar sharing is permission-based. A user can share a calendar, but they cannot fully allow another person to “re-share” it freely like Google Calendar.

    How to share your calendar

    1. Open Outlook Calendar
    2. Right-click your calendar → Sharing and permissions
    3. Add the person you want
    4. Set permission to Can edit or Delegate

    Official Microsoft guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-your-calendar-in-outlook-532e6410-ee80-42b5-9b1b-a09345ccef1b

    If you want co-management (recommended)

For multiple users managing events and permissions together, use a group calendar in Microsoft 365:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/calendar-sharing-in-microsoft-365-b576ecc3-0945-4d75-85f1-5efafb8a37b4

This allows shared management across members more like Google Calendar.
