Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Just to clarify, are these automated emails from a specific service or website, or are all auto-generated emails affected?

Since regular emails are arriving, it may be related to how those messages are being filtered or classified.

Please check the Junk Email folder and the Deleted Items folder first. If you're using Outlook for iOS, also check whether Focused Inbox is enabled and look in the Other tab. And check via Outlook web https://outlook.live.com/mail

Are the senders receiving any bounce-back or delivery failure messages? If so, what is the exact error?

Check the following to troubleshoot why only auto-generated emails are missing while regular emails arrive:

    1. Check Junk/Other and other folders
    • In Outlook/Outlook.com, check the Junk Email folder and any other folders (including Other if Focused Inbox is enabled) to see if the auto-generated messages are being misclassified or moved.
    • If such messages are found in Junk, mark them as Not junk so future messages from that sender are delivered to Inbox.
    1. Review Junk Email settings and rules
    • Open your Junk Email settings and verify that the sender addresses or domains of the auto-generated emails are not blocked.
    • Check for any rules that might be moving or deleting messages automatically (for example, rules that divert messages to RSS feeds or other folders). Remove or adjust any rule that affects these auto-generated messages.
    1. Check filters and sorting
    • Ensure there are no filters applied in the message list that hide certain messages.
    • Confirm the message list is sorted by Date so new messages appear where expected.
    1. If using a third-party mail service
    • If the auto-generated emails are coming from or via a third-party mail service connected to Outlook, ensure that service supports modern authentication and IMAP as required for Outlook Mobile and Desktop.
    • If IMAP or POP is enabled for that account and causing sync issues, try disabling IMAP/POP as described in the Outlook.com guidance and test again.
    1. Ask the sender to verify delivery
    • If the issue is with a specific automated system (for example, a website or service sending confirmations), ask the sender to verify that messages are being sent successfully and to review Sender Support in Outlook.com for any delivery issues on their side.

If, after these checks, only those auto-generated messages are missing and they are not in Junk or any other folder, the sender’s system may be blocked or failing to deliver, and the sender needs to investigate from their side.
