Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook on the web for business
Good day Admin,
Thank you for sharing your concern.
I understand that you already have a domain, your current email usage is minimal, and you would like an affordable way to expand your email usage while keeping the same domain.
Just to clarify before we continue, this is a user‑to‑user support forum, so I don’t have access to individual accounts or the ability to investigate or contact you directly. Moderators and contributors, including Microsoft employees participating here, also don’t have access to internal systems or the ability to take direct action on Microsoft product features. However, I truly hope I can help review your situation, offer some guidance, and support you in finding the right next steps as best as possible.
To clarify the situation, Microsoft 365 can host business email on your existing domain after the required DNS records are updated.
Regarding your request, the solution can be divided into two parts, as Microsoft 365 focuses on email and productivity services but does not provide public website hosting.
For email, here are the most relevant options:
Option 1: Exchange Online Plan 1
This is the most cost-effective option if your main requirement is professional email with light or moderate usage.
It costs $4 per user per month, billed annually excluding tax, and includes a 50 GB mailbox, business email on your own domain, and Outlook on the web.
Here are the setup steps:
Create Microsoft 365 tenant and purchase licenses.
Add your existing domain to Microsoft 365.
Verify domain ownership using a DNS record.
Create user accounts and assign mailboxes.
Update MX and related email DNS records to point to Microsoft 365.
Test email sending and receiving.
Option 2: Microsoft 365 Business Basic
This option is suitable if you want both business email and access to Microsoft 365 online tools.
It costs $6 per user per month, billed annually excluding tax, and includes business email on your own domain, Outlook on the web and mobile, 1 TB of cloud storage per user and access to Microsoft 365 web apps like Word, Excel, and Teams.
The setup process will be the same as option 1, but please ensure more thorough validation of email functionality and user access.
This option is more suitable if you plan to expand collaboration and productivity in the future.
Additionally, Microsoft 365 does not provide public website hosting, so you can keep using your current hosting provider or choose a third-party service for your website, while using the same domain for both email and website.
Note: Only the email related DNS records need to be updated for Microsoft 365. All other records related to your website should remain unchanged to avoid downtime.
