Hi, we are staging a fleet of enterprise workstations using the Autopilot technician flow. The system passes the hardware registration phase and device enrollment checks, but aborts during the app deployment phase with error 0x8103012f. The log indicates a failure verifying the installation receipt.

Hi Oliver Harris,

This error occurs during the Autopilot technician flow because the system cannot verify application installation receipts. The issue is typically caused by system clock drift, which invalidates the cryptographic signatures required for verification, or by attempting to deploy applications configured for "user context" instead of "device context" during the pre-provisioning phase. To resolve this, ensure hardware clocks are synchronized via NTP, and use the DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider logs to identify the specific application causing the failure so its targeting can be corrected.
