Word application crashing

Hello Microsoft,

Since today morning I cannot use my word application in mobile I cannot open the application as it immediately crashes down and moreover it shows the app has a bug and please tell me a way to solve this bug and i need my documents safely

Follow these steps to get Word for Android working again and keep documents safe:

1. Confirm documents are safe
   Documents stored in OneDrive, SharePoint, or email are not affected by the app crashing. The problem is with the Word app on the device, not the files themselves.
2. Try opening the files on another device
   Since Word for Android is crashing, open the same documents in:
   • Word for Windows
   • Word for the web
   • Word for iOS
   If they open, save a new copy of each document from that device. This can repair elements that Word for Android cannot read so they will open normally later:
   1. Open the document in Word (Windows, web, or iOS).
   2. Select File > Save as.
   3. Choose Word Document as the type.
   4. Give it a new name and select Save. Use the new copy on Android once the app is working again.
3. Check file formats when Word stops crashing
   When Word for Android is working again, make sure the files are in supported formats (for example, .docx). If a file is in an older or unsupported format and only opens read-only or not at all, open it on another device and save it as a .docx file as above.
4. If specific files still won’t open on Android
   Even after repair, some elements in a document may not be supported on Android. In that case, keep using Word for Windows, Word for the web, or Word for iOS for those particular documents.

If the app itself continues to crash every time it starts (even with no document open), reinstalling Word for Android from the store and then reopening documents from OneDrive/SharePoint/email is recommended, because the documents themselves are stored separately and remain safe.
