A cloud-based identity and access management service for securing user authentication and resource access
Domain appicsolutions.com can only be verified in a single Microsoft Entra tenant at a time. Even if the TXT record is correct, verification in the new tenant fails while the domain is still present in another directory.
To resolve:
- Confirm the TXT record is correct and visible
- Use an authoritative DNS lookup (for example,
nslookup -q=TXT appicsolutions.comor an online DNS lookup tool) to ensure the verification TXT record exactly matches what the new tenant shows. - If the TXT record is missing or incorrect, fix it and wait for DNS propagation, then retry verification.
- Use an authoritative DNS lookup (for example,
- Check whether the domain is already in use in another directory
- A custom domain can only be verified in one Microsoft Entra tenant at a time. If appicsolutions.com is still verified in another tenant (including an unmanaged/self-service tenant such as Power BI or a different Entra directory), it blocks verification in the new tenant.
- The blocking tenant might be:
- A previous organization’s tenant that still has the domain attached, or
- Another directory under the same subscription (for example, an Azure “Default Directory”) where the domain is added as Unverified or Verified.
- Remove the domain from the old tenant
- Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center of the tenant that currently holds appicsolutions.com.
- Go to Entra ID → Domain names and locate appicsolutions.com.
- Delete the domain from that tenant. A domain must be removed there before it can be verified in a different tenant.
- If the domain is in an unmanaged tenant (for example, created by self-service Power BI sign-up), perform an admin takeover of that directory, then delete the domain. See the guidance for taking over an unmanaged directory.
- Re-add and verify in the new tenant
- In the target tenant, go to Entra ID → Domain names → Add custom domain and add appicsolutions.com.
- Ensure the TXT record shown is present in DNS.
- Select Verify. Once the domain is no longer present in any other tenant and the TXT record is correct, verification should succeed.
If the domain was previously expired and re-registered, still ensure it is deleted from any old tenant where it was used. Microsoft will not allow the same domain to be verified in more than one Entra tenant.
