Downloads that all show as the same picture or appear to have “disappeared” are usually caused by one of these issues:
- Android download name limit (if using Outlook Mobile or Android browser)
On Android, the OS only allows saving a file with the same name a limited number of times. When repeatedly downloading from a creator’s app or site, the files can all end up with the same name (for example,image.jpg,image(1).jpg, etc.), and further downloads can fail or not save correctly. To fix this on Android:- Open the Files app on the device.
- Go to the Downloads section.
- Search for the file name that keeps repeating.
- Rename or remove one or more of the existing copies.
- Try downloading the new pictures again from the creator’s app.
- Files saved but not where expected
The images may be saved, but in a different folder than expected (for example, a default Downloads folder instead of a project folder). Use File Explorer (Windows) or Files (Android) to search by file type (e.g.,*.jpg) or by date to locate them. - Security/antivirus interference
Security software can sometimes block or interfere with downloads, causing files not to save correctly or to appear as broken/empty. If this started after an antivirus update, temporarily disabling or adjusting that software (if allowed in the environment) and retrying the download can help. If the issue stops when antivirus is disabled, adjust its settings or contact its support. - Source app behavior
If the creator’s app reuses the same file name for different pictures or has a bug in its export/download feature, the device or browser may overwrite previous downloads with the latest one, making everything look like the same image. In that case, check whether the app has options to:- Export to a different folder
- Change the file name for each download
- Export all images as a single archive (ZIP) and then extract them locally
If all the images truly overwrote each other under one file name, the earlier versions are not recoverable from the download folder and must be re-downloaded from the creator’s app or original source.
