Hi. A "connection error" right after purchasing a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription usually happens because your local applications or browser are trying to read an old cache, or because the cloud license hasn't fully synced to your device yet.

The most important thing to know about Microsoft 365 Basic is that it does not include desktop versions of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. It only grants you 100 GB of OneDrive cloud storage and an ad-free web-based Outlook email account. If you are getting a connection error inside desktop apps, it is because your account is not authorized to use them.
